Abstract

IMS is an industry-led, government sponsored, international business innovation and research and development (R&D) program established to develop the next generation of manufacturing and processing technologies through multi-lateral collaboration between the participating regions. Currently, these regions include the European Union, Mexico, Korea, Switzerland, and the United States of America. Other Regions are encouraged to join the IMS program.
This presentation will introduce IMS, highlight ongoing “Manufacturing Technology Platform” (MTP) projects in the field of automation, review IMS targeted FP7 calls currently open, and detail how to leverage IMS’s 17 year history of manufacturing research and success through international consortium building, coaching services, publications, workshops, and the World Manufacturing Forum.
